Being one of the leading universities in the People's Republic of China, Sun Yat-Sen University is a comprehensive multi-disciplinary university, being the center of learning and culture in South China. The School of Mobile Information Engineering (SMIE) is a newly established school at Sun Yet-Sen University, which based on an innovative concept of combining of interdisciplinary research and teaching on electrical engineering, computer engineering, communication engineering, and software engineering.<br><br>

The Vehicle Intelligence lab in SMIE is active in the subject areas of innovative ICT architectures for future vehicles, in particular for autonomous driving. The research interest within this context centers around novel concepts for hardware, software, and hardware/software co-design for future inner/inter-car ICT infrastructure, including but not limited to MPSOC-based ECUs, ADAS applications, formal verification, and model-based programming paradigm. Even though the scientific activities include a high degree of fundamental research, it involves regular contacts with renowned German/Chinese automobile manufacturers.<br><br>



Major responsibilities:<br>

The candidate is expected to perform independent research in the area of the position. The senior candidate is further expected to enrich the research in the lab by participating in seminar series and give advice and mentor PhD/master students in the lab.<br><br>


Qualifications:<br>
---------------<br>
The candidates shall have a PhD/master Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Vehicle Engineering with a thesis in hardware/software co-design of vehicle electronics or in a closely related field.<br>

For the position of Associate Research Scientist, the candidate is expected to have deep knowledge of vehicle engineering, e.g., assisting the building of an autonomous car.<br><br>



Position summary:<br>

Full-time temporary employment for research scientist and Postdoc, where the contract is yearly-based and can be extended based on performance evaluation. The annual salaries for the research scientist and Postdoc are 192-247K and 120-160k RMB, respectively,  plus up to 100k RMB performance bonus. The salary for the PhD position is 70k RMB and it is expected that a successful PhD thesis is written in a time frame of 3-4 years.<br><br>
